About the New Forest Riding Club
The New Forest Riding Club has been in existence since the 1980's. Previously known as The Forest Ride Group the name changed when we became affiliated to the British Horse Society.
The BHS acts as the governing body to the Riding Clubs in the UK and affiliation provides us with insurance liability cover for our events and the opportunity to take part in national competitions.
The New Forest Riding Club has around 150 members, most of whom own and ride their own horses. This also includes some non-horse owners who ride other members' horses, as well as a number of non-riding members who help to organise events.
The New Forest part of our name only reflects our location. There is no obligation for anyone to own or ride a New Forest Pony - our members have horses and ponies of every size, shape, colour and breed.

The Club is run by a committee of volunteers. A monthly newsletter is circulated to all Members. This contains details of forthcoming events, results, members' advertisements and any "literary contributions" from members. Advertising is free to members.
So, if you have a horse, or ride one regularly, come and join us; have some fun and also be offered the chance to participate and represent the Club at BHS Area competitions. These competitions are open to teams and individuals and take place in many disciplines such as show-jumping, dressage, eventing & hunter trials.
